All Requisite Parts
My MFA thesis, All Requisite Parts, consists of 362 polaroids mounted on baltic birch wood (August 2015-March 2016), 12 sculptural reliquaries, and an audio component. All Requisite Parts began as a way to confront my inner conflict in regards to the female archetype, the idealization of motherhood, and the notion of fulfillment. Through multiple mediums I create an immersive experience that communicates my struggle to balance and manage the roles and expectations as a mother, military spouse, and artist. Additionally, within this body of work, I highlight how family narrative and circumstances such as loss can alter and form one’s identity.
